Roll For The Patrol with the Mungenast Automotive Family

Mungenast Automotive Family's Roll For The PatrolThe Missouri State Highway Patrol is one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the country. Serving in the patrol is a high risk job, and unfortunately many state troopers have lost their lives while working to keep Missourians safe on the roads. The MASTERS (Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society) program was formed in 1979; this group of volunteers collects funds to financially assist the trooper’s husband or wife and children if he or she perishes in the line of duty.

Mungenast Motorsports is honored to sponsor the MASTERS program to pay tribute to our noble troopers who have sacrificed so much for our state. It is our sincere hope that many St. Louisans can join us for the Roll for The Patrol event as we ride to Arcadia Academy. All proceeds of the $25 dollar registration fee go directly to the MASTERS program to help the troopers’ families with funeral expenses, loan payments, mortgage payments, immediate bills, and scholarships for dependent children.

Registration will be taken on-site from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Sunday, June 1st, 2014, at Mungenast Motorsports: 5935 S. Lindberg Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63123. Food and drink will be provided prior to the ride; after the ride, all participants are invited to dine at Thee Abbey Kitchen in Arcadia.

For more information, we invite you to visit our Facebook event page or contact Shan Herwig through e-mail at shanherwig@mungenast.com or by telephone at (314)649-1254.

Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause and making this event fun for all.

Why the 2014 Honda CTX700 Should Be Your First Motorycle (or Second. . .or Third. . .)

Special on Select Honda Motorcycles at Mungenast Motorsports This May Are you looking for a motorcycle in St. Louis, MO? Get to Mungenast Motorsports today to test drive the 2014 Honda CTX700– a powerful yet unintimidating bike focused on providing an excellent riding experience for both expert and novice riders. With the 2014 CTX700, Honda wanted to welcome a new generation into the awesome world of riding — and there’s no better time to start, as Honda is temporarily offering a special 120 day deferred payment  PLUS 12 Months of HondaCare Protection promotion on the purchase of a 2014 Honda CTX700and many other select models during the month of May.

For a starting price of $7,799.00, you’ll have both power and agility with Honda’s 670cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. The choice is yours between a conventional six-speed manual transmission or Honda’s revolutionary automatic  Dual Clutch Transmission. This DCT automatic transmission facilitates smooth shifts through all gears with the push of a handlebar-mounted button and also has the added security of ABS, which is not available on the manual transmission. Additionally, you can chose between Drive and Sport mode – the former up-shifts quickly for better fuel efficiency, and the latter will rev higher before shifting for more power and, well, more fun!

You really need to slide into the 2014 Honda to fully understand how surprisingly light and comfortable you feel in the seat. This fairing-equipped bike’s riding position allows riders to stretch out and get comfortable on long trips through the Midwest this spring.  Another bonus — the up-front pegs and low seat height (28.3 inches) make it easy for your feet to touch base with the asphalt at stop lights.

Although Honda built the 2014 CTX700 for light-touring, this easy-driving machine is also great for highway cruising and commuting. If you need more cargo space than the storage area in the faux fuel tank (and you might if you plan to use the bike for touring purposes), we recommend checking out the excellent Honda Accessories for the CTX700 in stock at Mungenast Motorsportsto pick up saddlebags or other comfort-related features and components.

Why wait? Get in and get going before May 31st to take advantage of the 120-Day Deferred Payment Plus 12 Months HondaCare Protection promotion.  This is an exceptional offer for new riders especially, as Honda will support you during your first year of motorcycle ownership. We look forward to hearing from you!

Honda to Sponsor Nicky Hayden on the RCV1000R

Nicky Hayden returns to HondaYesterday, Honda Racing Company issued a press release stating that they will retain motocross rider Nicky Hayden’s services to ride the Honda RVC1000R on the DRIVE M7 Aspar Team in the MotoGP World Championship the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Mungenast Motorsports was thrilled that Honda renewed their relationship with The Kentucky Kid — Since we were founded by a racing legend ourselves, Dave Mugnenast, Sr., we love seeing a promising young role model like Hayden representing the Honda line. The legendary rider already has 3 MotoGP wins, 28 MotoGP podiums, 5 MotoGP poles, 7 MotoGP fastest laps, and one unforgettable MotoGP World Championship win in 2006.

Honda’s relationship with Hayden began in 1999 when the rider was only 17. We eagerly await Hayden’s entrance in the Circuit of the Americas MotoGP, April 11-13, on the stunning production RCV1000R, which features an incredible 90º V-4 engine that delivers over 234 horsepower at 16,000rpm, Öhlins suspension, and Nissin brakes. Honda Channels The Dark Night and Akira for the New NM4 Vultus

Honda NM4 Vultus Motorcycle | Mungenast Motorsports

Honda released the NM4 Vultus last Friday at the Osaka Motorcycle Show, and there’s no denying its visual appeal. Stunning, bold, and angular, this bike demands attention. And attention it has received, as various enthusiasts took to the Twitter to compare the sharp, dark geometry of the bodywork to post-apocalyptic cinematic franchises such as Batman, Judge Dredd, or Akira.

The NM4 Vultus Mission

The fact that the bike is receiving attention on social media for its resemblance to popular cinema in many ways shows that the designers have achieved their two initial goals: (1) to appeal to the social media-engaged urban youth and (2) to make each ride a cinematic event.  In a press release, Large Project Leader for the NM4 Vultus, Keita Mikura, claims that this is not a touring bike; this is not a practical bike. This is bike is passionate, soulful, and dramatic. This bike is fun.

“Honda is a big company,” begins Mikura, “We make every kind of motorcycle. It’s great that sometimes we make a certain machine simply because we can and because we want to, not because we ‘should.’ The NM4 Vultus exists because of a passion from deep within our company. . . Our intention was to make something that makes every moment feel cinematic, and we want riding it to be an event – guaranteed – every single time.”

The NM4 Vultus Details and Features

Honda also wanted this bike to feel youthful, which might be why the design team consisted of 20- and 30-year old designers. The team borrowed heavily from manga and “Japanimation” to create the striking Front Massive Styling that gives the NM4 Vulvus its name: Vultus means “countenance” or “facial expression” in Latin. This type of design positions the rider towards the back of the bike, much like he or she would ride a scooter – a “scooter” with a 745cc parallel-twin-powered engine, that is. The NM4 Vultus’s Front Massive Styling allows the front of the bike to contain the engine, fuel, and storage space while the rider steers using pullback handlebars. With its low center of gravity, the bike can navigate with agility through urban environments while maintaining respectable power. The engine delivers 54 horsepower and 50 lb ft of torque for a smooth acceleration, and at 540 pounds, the Vultus delivers 225 horsepower per metric ton. Honda claims it can hit 80.2 mpg.

Want your motorcycle display to match your iPhone or other gadgets? Honda’s made this possible. Not only does the backlight dash automatically change between white, blue, pink, or red depending on the driving mode, but can be set to any of 25 colors for more customization. And speaking of gadets, the NM4 Vultus features an integrated 12-volt adaptor for charging the essential devices.

The NM4 Vultus Price and Production

Honda has not yet made any formal announcements about the production plans or the cost of the NM4 Vultus.

Are you one of those people who needs to see the numbers? Check out this article for complete specs for the NM4 Vultus.

Victory at Daytona Bike Week

"This ain't a bolt-on custom."

Last Friday, March 7, Strokers Dallas owner Rick Fairless revealed his re-imagined Victory Vegas 8-Ball at Daytona Bike Week.  Fairless created the custom bike for the fifth year of the Allstate Motorcycle Sweepstakes; this is the first year, however, that a Fairless custom is featured as the grand prize.

“I knew I had to push the limits a little with this bike because they insure so many different kinds of folks,” Fairless said, “We ended up with a bike that is really going to turn some heads. This ain’t a bolt-on custom.”

The custom Victory Vegas 8-Ball boasts specially created engine guards, a drilled-out front pulley cover and chain guard, and a two-into-one exhaust. Fairless also created aftermarket Victory parts for his custom, and you can these parts through the retail side of Strokers. And as for the paint job – that’s up to the winner, who gets an all-expense paid trip to Dallas to meet with Rick and work with him on a custom paint job.

“We’re confident that the winner of this year’s Allstate Motorcycle Sweepstakes is not only going to love their new ride,” said Pam Hollander, senior director of marketing for Allstate Insurance Company, and as big fans of the Victory Vegas 8-Ball series, we at Mungenast Motorsports couldn’t agree more.

The 2015 Victory Gunner

Another noteworthy Victory motorcycle making a splash at Dallas Bike Week was the 2015 Gunner. This cruiser features a Freedom 106 engine (4-stroke 50° V-twin) and a heaping 110 ft-lb of torque, and weighs in 11 pounds less than the Victory Judge.  The Victory Gunner is an outstanding cruiser motorcycle; a bobber with the unmatched combination of style, performance, and power typical of Victory motorcycles. You have to experience this bike – and you can at Mungenast Motorsports in St. Louis, MO. See our 2015 Victory Gunner inventory here.

Interested in winning the Allstate Vegas 8-Ball Motorcycle? Enter online at www.allstatemotorcyclesweepstakes.com until February 28, 2015.  The winner will be announced in March 2015. Can’t wait until next year to see if you’ve won? We couldn’t either! Why don’t you follow the link to the Mungenast Motorsports website to see our Victory Vegas 8-Ball lineup or come down to our motorcycle dealership in St. Louis, MO, for a test ride today.

The Honda NC700X Arrives At Mungenast Motorsports

It’s official – the smart and innovative Honda NC700X is here in the United States for 2013.  It may not be the loudest or flashiest motorcycle on the road, but it’s among the most practical.  Combining the agility of a sport bike with storage capacity like a bagger, bikes like the NC700X are unusual, if not very hard to come by here in America, but this bike may change all that.

Power comes from a unique 670cc parallel-twin engine that shares its basic architecture with the Honda Fit’s power plant, providing excellent torque while returning a combined 64 MPG fuel consumption average.  That engine is in the normal place you’d expect it, but the NC700X features a storage compartment where you’d expect the fuel tank to reside.  The storage compartment is large enough for helmet storage, which many riders will find useful.

Two versions of the NC700X are available, a version with a six-speed manual or a brand new Dual Clutch Transmission-equipped version with ABS.

Overview – 2012 Honda Ruckus

There are all kinds of ways to get around these days without hopping into a car or a bus – and while a motorcycle is a great option for some, others prefer something more personal.  For them, there are scooters.  But not all scooter admirers want something “cute” – they want something that’s more rugged, something that stands out.  Meet the 2012 Honda Ruckus.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Ruckus is that it doesn’t have much of a body – it’s literally missing a cover, which gives this scooter a very rugged, “Urban Warrior” kind of look.  Its bold design is available in two different color schemes – all black, or a unique white/red.  Either way, the Ruckus will make a statement anywhere you take it.   The 49cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine is plenty to get you around town.  And with an EPA estimated fuel economy estimate of 114 MPG – the Ruckus is dirt cheap to operate.

Come down to Mungenast Motorsports and come see what the Ruckus is all about (we love saying that)!
