The Honda NC700X Arrives At Mungenast Motorsports

It’s official – the smart and innovative Honda NC700X is here in the United States for 2013.  It may not be the loudest or flashiest motorcycle on the road, but it’s among the most practical.  Combining the agility of a sport bike with storage capacity like a bagger, bikes like the NC700X are unusual, if not very hard to come by here in America, but this bike may change all that.

Power comes from a unique 670cc parallel-twin engine that shares its basic architecture with the Honda Fit’s power plant, providing excellent torque while returning a combined 64 MPG fuel consumption average.  That engine is in the normal place you’d expect it, but the NC700X features a storage compartment where you’d expect the fuel tank to reside.  The storage compartment is large enough for helmet storage, which many riders will find useful.

Two versions of the NC700X are available, a version with a six-speed manual or a brand new Dual Clutch Transmission-equipped version with ABS.

Overview – 2012 Honda Ruckus

There are all kinds of ways to get around these days without hopping into a car or a bus – and while a motorcycle is a great option for some, others prefer something more personal.  For them, there are scooters.  But not all scooter admirers want something “cute” – they want something that’s more rugged, something that stands out.  Meet the 2012 Honda Ruckus.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Ruckus is that it doesn’t have much of a body – it’s literally missing a cover, which gives this scooter a very rugged, “Urban Warrior” kind of look.  Its bold design is available in two different color schemes – all black, or a unique white/red.  Either way, the Ruckus will make a statement anywhere you take it.   The 49cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine is plenty to get you around town.  And with an EPA estimated fuel economy estimate of 114 MPG – the Ruckus is dirt cheap to operate.

Come down to Mungenast Motorsports and come see what the Ruckus is all about (we love saying that)!

Mungenast Motorsports helps raise $25k at annual Bike and Badge Ride

The roar of motorcycles echoed through the streets of south St. Louis County earlier this month as local riders geared up for the seventh annual Dave Mungenast Sr. Memorial Bike and Badge Ride.

On Sunday, October 2, more than 250 motorcycle diehards rolled into Mungenast Motorsports to help support the BackStoppers, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and support to the spouses and children of fallen police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Before the 100-mile journey to Ste. Genevieve, all participants took part in a commencement ceremony, where a military-style bagpipe performance was held; a minister blessed each bike in attendance; and a police escort rallied every rider to the streets.

This year’s event generated $25,000 for the BackStoppers, and over the last six years, more than $175,000 has been donated to the group.

“We are so happy with this year’s turnout,” said Shan Herwig, business development manager at Mungenast St. Louis Honda. “This event would not be successful without the support of the community. Everyone who came out is truly making a difference in the lives of those who rely on the support of the BackStoppers. Hopefully we can continue to help those in need through this event.”

Mungenast Motorsports Welcomes Victory Motorcycles To The Family

It’s no secret that Dave Mungenast Sr. was perhaps one of the most influential motorcycle enthusiasts in St. Louis’ rich motorsports history.  Dave took all his passion and energy for his love of motorcycles and opened his first dealership, St. Louis Honda, in 1965.  Today, we continue Dave’s passion for motorsports and share the enthusiasm for ridership that our company was founded on.  We’re proud to announce a new chapter in our history as we welcome Victory Motorcycles, one of the most quintessentially American motorcycle brands of our time, to our showroom.  Victory set out to establish a reputation for themselves as “The New American Motorcycle” when they began producing their bikes back in 1998 in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  Today, Victory is an industry leader in design, production, and powertrain development.

Please stay tuned to our blog for more information about Victory Motorcycles.  We expect to have the first models arrive within the next three weeks.
